Opportunities to explore

The optimal design of wind turbines and wind-energy farms requires a comprehensive understanding of the physics of wind flows happening at various scales, as well as structural mechanics of the materials used.
A first requirement is knowledge of isolated phenomena on different scales and across a number of individual components. This must be explored as wind turbines and wind-energy farms are very difficult to simulate with high accuracy due to factors involving various phenomena (fluid, structural, electrical).
